If a potential customer has asked your company to register with ISNetworld®, you are not alone. Hundreds of large organizations use the platform to qualify, evaluate, and monitor their contractors and suppliers.

These organizations are referred to within ISNetworld as Hiring Clients. They operate across industries including oil and gas, utilities, construction, manufacturing, food production, chemicals, mining, transportation, pharmaceuticals, facilities management, and renewable energy.

As of July 2026, ISN reports that approximately 900 Hiring Clients use ISNetworld to manage information for 90,000 contractors and suppliers at more than 10,000 jobsites in over 85 countries.

What Is an ISNetworld Hiring Client?

An ISNetworld Hiring Client is an organization that uses the ISNetworld contractor management platform to evaluate contractors and suppliers.

Hiring Clients may use ISNetworld to review information such as:

• Company safety programs
• OSHA injury and illness records
• Experience Modification Rates
• General liability and workers’ compensation insurance
• Employee training and qualifications
• Drug and alcohol testing programs
• Written safety policies
• Regulatory citations
• Sustainability and cybersecurity information
• Customer-specific questionnaires and requirements

The exact requirements vary by Hiring Client. They may also vary by facility, geographic location, type of work, service category, and level of risk.

A contractor can therefore be compliant for one Hiring Client but remain unapproved for another.

Do All Contractors Working for These Companies Need ISNetworld?

Not necessarily.

A company’s appearance on the ISNetworld Hiring Client list does not mean every contractor performing work for that company must have an ISNetworld account.

Requirements can differ between:

• Corporate divisions
• Facilities and jobsites
• Countries and regions
• Types of contracted services
• Construction and maintenance projects
• Low-risk and high-risk work
• Direct contractors and subcontractors

Contractors should confirm the requirement with their customer before purchasing an ISNetworld subscription.

When ISNetworld registration is required, the customer will typically send an invitation or provide instructions for connecting the contractor’s account to the applicable Hiring Client.

Contractors can connect with multiple Hiring Clients through one ISNetworld subscription, although additional fees or account changes may apply in some situations.

A contractor cannot simply select any company from the directory and automatically become an approved vendor. A connection generally requires an existing or potential business relationship with the Hiring Client.

Depending on the company, contractors may obtain a connection by:

• Receiving an invitation from the Hiring Client
• Contacting a facility or procurement representative
• Working with an existing customer contact
• Completing the Hiring Client’s vendor registration process
• Responding to a bid or contractor qualification opportunity

After the connection is established, additional questionnaires, insurance requirements, safety programs, or training requirements may appear in the contractor’s account.

Submitting information does not guarantee approval.
